The University of Vermont was founded in 1791. It is a top 50 public research university with world-class faculty, an exceptional learning experience and a vibrant campus community, all of which provides the students the skills for success after graduation. UVM is a Public Ivy and top 100 research university of a perfect size, large enough to offer a breadth of ideas, resources, and opportunities, yet small enough to enable close faculty-student mentorship across all levels of study, from bachelor’s to M.D. programs. UVM offers 100 undergraduate majors, with gifted faculty who inspire and prepare students for every kind of success after graduation. The Graduate College at the University enrols students in 50 master's programs and 22 doctoral programs. UVM offers a peak academic experience that translates to student success. With seven undergraduate colleges and schools, a graduate college, a college of medicine, an honours college, continuing education and extension programs, UVM's academic programs offer breadth, depth and variety and on an intimate scale.
