Department structure

Department structure

Westminster offers a variety of postgraduate and undergraduate courses through its three colleges, which are each comprised of four schools. Spread over four locations in London, students study at either The Cavendish, Regent, Marylebone or Harrow campuses depending on their chosen subject area.

College of Design, Creative and Digital Industries

This college aims to prepare students for an exciting future in a rapidly changing world by fostering creativity and giving students the skills to develop and manipulate the latest technological advances. This college includes the award-winning School of Architecture and Cities, offering courses in computer science, network engineering and digital media. The Westminster School of Arts offers popular courses in film, art and design. The university’s department of fashion was ranked by Fashionista Magazine to be among the top ten fashion schools in the world, 2018.

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

This college offers courses in humanities including the opportunity to study English and other modern languages. You will also find courses in criminology, politics, psychology and international relations. Students can study biomedical sciences in state-of-the-art laboratories. This college is also home to the Westminster School of Law, which adopts a practical approach to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, where students are encouraged to participate in real client cases at the Student Law Clinic.

Westminster Business School

Located at the university’s central London Marylebone campus, students benefit from the Westminster Business School’s strong industry links through placement and internship opportunities. The college offers highly regarded courses, which enjoy national and international accreditation by professional bodies including accounting and finance, business management, economics, international marketing communications and construction management.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

Language requirements

International students whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate proficiency in English in the form of a recent IELTS, Pearson, Cambridge English Language Examination score or Password English Skills test.

Students applying for an undergraduate programme at the university would need to have an overall score of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component (or equivalent). Students opting for a postgraduate programme at the university would need to have an overall score of IELTS 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component (or equivalent). Minimum grading requirements may vary depending on the course.

Pathway Courses

In conjunction with its partner organisation, Kaplan International Pathways, the University of Westminster offers several options for students, including undergraduate and postgraduate pathway courses.

Pathway courses are taken at Kaplan International College London. Upon successful completion, students are guaranteed a place on their chosen degree.

The University of Westminster was founded as Britain's first polytechnic in 1838. It is a global university which is home to thousands of students from various nations. Students from 169 nationalities are welcomed from all over the world.

Westminster offers more than 300 degree courses and places particular emphasis on providing international opportunities for students in order to ensure that it provides an environment where students can develop skills, competences and knowledge required by the global economy. It offers highly attractive practice-based courses which are independently rated as excellent. The institution leads the way in many areas of research, particularly politics, media, art and design, architecture and biomedical sciences.

The University has four campuses in London, which are home to five faculties. Three of it?s campuses are in central London and one is in Harrow, north-west London. The university?s central London campus comprises Cavendish Campus, Marylebone Campus and Regent Campus.
