Brief description:

Monash University is offering a number of scholarship programs including the Monash University International Leadership Scholarships for outstanding international students who wish to pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Monash University.

Application instructions:

Before applying for this scholarship, you must have received a full Monash course offer with no conditions. You must submit a separate application form for this scholarship by the deadline. The next deadlines is 15 January 2018 for Semester 2, 2018.


Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarships

Brief description:

The International Undergraduate Scholarships were established by the University of Melbourne in recognition of the significant contribution made by international students to the diversity of the University's student population.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

The International Undergraduate scholarship provides one of the following benefits:

  • a one off $10,000 fee remission from tuition fees in the first year of an undergraduate degree; or
  • a 50% remission from tuition fees for the normal full-time duration of an undergraduate degree; or
  • a 100% remission from tuition fees for the normal full-time duration of an undergraduate degree.

Eligibility:

To be considered for a fee remission scholarship you must:

  • be a citizen of a country other than Australia and New Zealand and not a permanent resident of Australia;
  • have received an unconditional offer for an undergraduate course;
  • have achieved excellent final year school results, such as:
    • 4 A-grades in the GCE A Levels
    • an ATAR of 99.9 in the Australian Year 12 program,
    • overall 98% in an approved Foundation program
    • an International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 44;
  • not have previously undertaken any tertiary studies (excluding extension studies completed as part of a year 12 program);

Application instructions:

You do not need to submit an application for this scholarship. All eligible students who have received an unconditional offer for admission to an undergraduate degree will automatically be considered.  

There are five selection rounds with a designated number of scholarships available for each round:

  • April and May for students starting in Semester 2

Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI)

Brief description:

The University of Adelaide offers Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI) to attract high quality overseas postgraduate students to areas of research strength in the University of Adelaide to support its research effort.

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:

The scholarship includes course tuition fees, annual living allowance ($26,288 in 2016), and overseas student health cover (if award holder holds a subclass 500 visa).

The scholarship is awarded for two years for a Masters degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only),

Eligibility:

In order to be eligible, applicants are required to have successfully completed at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree (this is a four year degree with a major research project in the final year). All qualifying programs of study must be successfully completed.  Scholarships will be awarded on academic merit and research potential. Extra-curricular achievements are not considered.

International applicants must not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate degree or, if undertaking a Research Masters degree, not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Masters degree.

International applicants who have not provided evidence of their meeting the minimum English language proficiency requirements for direct entry by the scholarship closing date, or who have completed a Pre-Enrolment English Program to meet the entry requirements for the intended program of study, are not eligible.

Candidates are required to enrol in the University of Adelaide as ‘international students' and must maintain ‘international student' status for the duration of their enrolment in the University. Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia, and citizens of New Zealand are ineligible.

To apply, you must submit a formal application for Admission and a Scholarship via the online application system.  There is no application fee. The next deadlines are 31 January 2018 for Semester 1 or 2, 2018 or 30 April 2018 for Semester 2, 2018.


Macquarie Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarships

Brief description:

The Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship provides a partial tuition fee scholarship for outstanding students to study an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Macquarie University North Ryde campus.

The scholarship amount is varied up to AUD$10,000  and will be applied towards your tuition fee.  It is not renewable.

The scholarships DO NOT provide financial support in the form of a living allowance, nor does it provide for the cost of visa application, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), airfares, accommodation, conferences or other costs associated with study.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • Have citizenship of a country other than ASEAN, a European country, Mongolia, Australia or New Zealand.
  • Have met the University's academic and English requirements for the course to be considered for a scholarship (must hold a full offer of admission for North Ryde by the application deadline).
  • Have achieved a minimum GPA of 5.0 out of 7.0 for Postgraduate applications and minimum requirement of an ATAR equivalent of 90 out of 100 for Undergraduate applications.
  • Have applied for a program that is longer than one Session in duration.
  • Commence study in session and year indicated in the scholarship offer letter.
  • Have applied for a course which has a full-time study load.
  • Commence study in the semester and year indicated in their offer of Scholarship. Commencement may not be deferred.

Application instructions:

Applicants must complete an online course application form and an online scholarship application form.  A Macquarie University Student Number (which you will receive once your course application has been processed) is compulsory to submit the online scholarship application form.  The deadlines are 31 January for Session 1 intake (February) and 30 June for Session 2 intake (July)


Monash International Merit Scholarships

Monash University is offering a number of scholarship programs including the Monash University International Merit Scholarships for outstanding international students who wish to pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Monash University.

$10,000 for a full time study load (48 credit points) paid per year until the minimum number of points for your degree are completed.

La Trobe Academic Excellence Scholarships for International Students

Brief description:

La Trobe's Academic Excellence Scholarships (AES) are targeted towards high achieving international students from all countries across all of La Trobe's undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs.

Scholarship value/duration:

The scholarship is worth between $10,000 and $20,000 and goes towards tuition fees. The scholarships are paid across a maximum of two semesters (or 12 months).

If you receive this scholarship, you still need to pay for any difference in fees for your first two semesters, fees for the rest of your course, and your Overseas Student Health Cover. To continue receiving your scholarship into your second semester, you must maintain a C grade average.

Eligibility:

You must be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand and be applying to start an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program. You must also have scored 85% or equivalent in your previous degree/award, and meet our English language and academic entry requirements. You are not eligible if you are starting a Higher Degree by Research, exchange program, Study Abroad program, ELICOS and Foundation Studies program, or Diploma course.

Application instructions:

You can only apply for this scholarship if you have an offer to study in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program program at La Trobe University. After you receive your offer, you must complete the scholarship application form and submit it to La Trobe International by the application deadline.


ADB-Japan Scholarship Program for Developing Countries in Asia and Pacific

Brief description:

The Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) aims to provide an opportunity for well-qualified citizens of ADB's developing member countries to undertake postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Region.  Upon completion of their study programs, scholars are expected to contribute to the economic and social development of their home countries.

Host Institution(s):

ADB-JSP provides scholarships only to participating academic institutions under the Program.

Field(s) of study:

Programs covered by the ADB-JSP are postgraduate studies in economics, management, health, education, agriculture,  environment, natural resource management, science and technology, and other development-related fields.

Only programs offered at the participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Regions are eligible for ADB-JSP funding.

Number of Scholarships:

About 300 scholarships are awarded annually.

Target group:

The scholarships are open to citizens of ADB's  borrowing member countries

Scholarship value/inclusions:

The ADB-JSP provides full tuition fees, a monthly subsistence and housing allowance, an allowance for books and instructional materials, medical insurance, and travel expenses.

The scholarship is for one year with an extension to the second year of study, as appropriate, which shall be conditional on the scholar maintaining a satisfactory level of performance as determined by the institute.   The maximum duration of scholarship award is two years for masters and doctorate programs.

Eligibility:

  • A national of an ADB borrowing member country (applicants from countries that are no longer borrowing from ADB are not eligible for the ADB-JSP Scholarship).
  • Gained admission to an approved MA/PhD course at an academic institution.
  • A bachelor's degree or its equivalent with superior academic record.
  • At least two (2) years of full-time professional working experience (acquired after a university degree) at the time of application. Proficiency in oral and written English communication skills to be able to pursue studies.
  • Not more than 35 years old at the time of application. In exceptional cases, for programs which are appropriate for senior officials and managers, the age limit is 45 years old.
  • In good health.
  • Should agree to return to his/her home country after completion of studies under the Program.
  • Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, management and staff of ADB, consultants, and relatives of the aforementioned are not eligible for the Scholarship.
  • Staff of academic institutions are not eligible for the Scholarship.
  • Applicants living or working in a country other than his/her home country are not eligible for scholarships.
  • ADB-JSP does not support applicants who are already enrolled in graduate degree programs.
  • ADB-JSP does not sponsor undergraduate studies, distance learning programs, short-term training, conferences, seminars, thesis writing, and research projects.

Application instructions:

Applicants should request information and application forms from the chosen Academic Institution and should indicate to that Institution that they are applying for admission and that they would like to be considered for the ADB-JSP Scholarship. The completed Institution application form and required documentation, including the ADB-JSP Information Sheet form, should be submitted to the academic institution. No separate application to ADB is necessary.

You must send applications for scholarships at least six months prior to the planned timethat you wish to commence studies. 


QUT Triple Crown Scholarship

General eligibility requirements

You will be considered for this scholarship if you:

  • have completed a qualifying course from any country outside Australia with the required academic results
  • meet minimum English language entry requirements of IELTS 6.5 (no sub scores below 6) or equivalent for direct admission to the degree program. If you are completing an English preparation course at QUT, you may be eligible for this scholarship once you have met the English language requirements
  • apply for and are accepted into one of these courses offered by our QUT Business School:
  • start your coursework degree program no later than Semester 2, 2020.

You are not eligible for this scholarship if:

  • you have completed your studies in Australia
  • you study either the Diploma in Business or Graduate Certificate in Business and Communication pathway courses.

Postgraduate coursework

If you are applying for a postgraduate coursework degree, you must have a recognised comparable bachelor degree award with a grading scale approximately equivalent to:

  • post-secondary studies with an approximate equivalent grade point average (GPA) of 6, calculated on the QUT 7-point scale (approximately 3.4 on a 4-point scale).

What you receive

You will receive:

  • a scholarship to cover 25% of your tuition fees for your first two semesters (one year) of study at QUT. This scholarship is based on your entry score.
  • an ongoing scholarship to cover 25% of your tuition fees per semester of study at QUT, provided you meet the academic conditions.

Conditions

To receive the ongoing scholarship after your first two semesters, you must:

  • maintain a minimum overall grade point average (GPA) of 5.5 on the QUT 7-point scale throughout your course at QUT.
