Riverside Community College
The RCC Centre for International Students & Programs welcomes students from all countries to study at RCC in more than 100 fields, helps students achieve academic success, and assists with transfer to four-year universities they choose for baccalaureate degrees. The center also offers social and cultural programs on campus and in the community. The college values the opportunity for more global awareness and international connections.
More than 300 students from 60-plus countries attend RCC each semester. They may take classes at any of the three colleges: Riverside City College, Moreno Valley and Norco. With full and part-time students, nearly 30,000 people study at RCC. Recently RCC international students transferred to universities throughout California, including UCLA, Berkeley, UC Riverside, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, Cal State San Bernardino, Cal State Fullerton, Cal Poly Pomona, USC, Loma Linda University and others. Other students completed AA degrees and Career Certificates. More than 2,000 classes are offered each semester in more than 60 majors. In addition to courses that prepare for transfer, the College offers courses leading to the Associate degree, which is awarded after two years (or 60 units) of study. Courses in Business Administration, Computer Information System, Pre-Engineering, English, and Office Administration are popular with international students. Certificate programs in many occupational fields are also available. RCC Centre for International Students and Programs has a full-time staff to assist students with admissions, registration, advising on academic and career goals, immigration, and transfer to universities to complete bachelor's degrees.
Riverside City College, founded in 1916, is located in Southern California, an hour's drive east of Los Angeles. RCC opened two additional campuses in 1991 in nearby Norco and Moreno Valley. Riverside is a traditional Southern California community. Museums, a symphony orchestra, and theatre companies add to the cultural life of the region. More than twenty-five colleges and universities, including University of California, California State University, and Loma Linda University are located within 30 miles of Riverside. Riverside is an ideal location from which to enjoy Southern California's attractions. Newport and Laguna Beach, the San Bernardino Mountains, the Palm Springs desert resort region, and Disneyland are also within an hour's drive. Weather is mild, with a Mediterranean climate.
