Scotch College Adelaide
The College was founded as a memorial to the sons of Scotland who served in the Great War of 1914-1918. It was incorporated under an Act of Parliament in 1922. In 1972 the College became co-educational and the Middle School began in 1973. On becoming part of the Scotch College community, each child becomes one of over a thousand students who are the centre of lives and for whom the school has deep care and profound ambitions.
The 200 staff are committed to creating a culture of wellbeing and educational attainment which is zealously focused, creating a stimulating and relevant learning experience in preparation for the 21st Century. It’s Council and Senior Leadership Team oversees and guides this unique community. Its members have a profound regard for the calling of the school and for the future happiness in every way of our students. The School only employs staff who can display their high capabilities as teachers and their capacity both inside and outside the classroom to ensure that students’ educational needs are met.
Offering a first-class education in every way, Scotch encourages and nurtures students to become happy, successful and well-rounded people of good character. The College sets high standards and encourages individuals to achieve their personal best academically and conduct themselves with dignity. Scotch College Adelaide values student excellence and diversity and seeks to recognise this through the provision of a number of scholarships each year. Scholarships are awarded to encourage and recognise meritorious achievement and potential, and are offered at different year levels based on the assessment of specific criteria.
