The University of Northern Colorado is a comprehensive baccalaureate and specialized graduate research university with a continuing commitment to its historical role in the preparation of educators. The history of The University of Northern Colorado begins in the late 1880s, when citizens of Greeley petitioned the Colorado government to create a school to educate teachers in their community. The University offers a comprehensive array of baccalaureate programs and master's and doctoral degrees primarily in the field of education.
