As IDP Education Consultancy and Education Services Limited Company, we have prepared this clarification text in order to inform you, our customers, our platform users and real people, including third parties, about the personal data we process within the scope of our activities we have carried out in accordance with the Law No. 6698 on Personal Data Protection and related legislation.

We obtain the identity information of our customers and platform users for the purpose of performing the education service applied for. In terms of the education service applied, we obtain the identity information in order to bring the school officials and students together.

We also collect identity information due to our contractual relationship with those involved.

We sometimes collect identity information in accordance with our legitimate interests and our Company principles.

We collect the contact information of our customers and platform users in order to provide support services in accordance with the legislation we are subject to, in order to fulfill our obligations arising from commercial requirements and laws, and if applicable, to meet our obligations in contracts, and to meet them with school officials abroad.

We collect data about the financial status of our customers and platform users in order to fulfill our obligations in contracts, for audit processes and for security purposes.

The main reason for collecting such data is the relevant contractual obligations.

We sometimes collect information about the financial situation, in accordance with our legitimate interests and Company principles, for example, to include our employees in campaigns or promotions provided by the schools or other educational institutions we cooperate with.

We collect Transaction Security Information of our customers and platform users in order to enter the program where our events take place.

We also collect Transaction Security information due to the contractual relationship with the relevant people. Sometimes we collect this data in accordance with our legitimate interests and our Company principles.

Do We Transfer Your Personal Data to a Third Party?

Due to the legal regulations in our country, identity information, contact information and many other personal data listed above are shared with the places clearly authorized in the legislation, periodically or upon the requests of the competent authorities.

It is also shared with the competent person or institution at the request of a court decision and an administrative authority expressly authorized by law.

Apart from this, your personal data is shared limitedly with Business Partners and Suppliers (Financial Consultants, Logistics Companies, Foreign Transfer Companies) with official institutions (service providers, etc.) in order to perform the service and fulfill the contractual obligations.

Do We Transfer Your Personal Data Abroad?

 

Your personal data only;

  • Where your express consent is,
  • Where there are conditions stipulated in the Personal Data Protection Act and where there is sufficient protection in the country where the data will be transferred
  • Where the conditions stipulated in the Personal Data Protection Law are present and where there is not enough protection in the country to be transferred, adequate protection is undertaken by the relevant country and where the Personal Data Protection Board ("Board") also has the permission

Platform users and customers get service from IDP Education to meet with school officials abroad. For this reason, in order for the contract to be executed and for the said service to be performed, the information must be transferred to the “University of Birmingham” institution abroad.

How Long Is Your Personal Data Stored?

The preservation period of your personal data is as follows:

  • If a period has been determined in the law or related legislation for the data to be stored, the data must be kept for at least this period. For the retention of your data, the retention period of the data is determined by adding a period of 6 months to 1 year to the periods stipulated in the legislation, and the data in question is deleted at the end of the specified period by considering the possibilities such as a possible court request or the request of an administrative authority authorized by the law regarding the relevant data, arriving late or a dispute to which we may be a party.
  • If a time period is not foreseen in the legislation for the preservation period of the data we process, your data will be stored as a requirement of the relationship between us and for the period determined in the contract signed with you. Your data will be deleted, destroyed or anonymized without any request after this relationship has ended or after the time specified in the contract has passed.
  • If you request that your data, whose preservation period is specified in the legislation, is deleted before the foreseen periods, your request will not be fulfilled.
  • If you make a request for deletion of your data that is not foreseen in the legislation regarding the preservation period and not intended for processing, your data will be deleted immediately or within 6 months at the latest.

What Are Your Rights You Can Use Regarding Your Personal Data?

Regarding your personal data;

  • Finding out if your personal data is processed,
  • Requesting information if your personal data has been processed,
  • Learning the purpose of processing personal data and whether they are used for their purpose,
  • Knowing the third parties to whom your personal data are transferred domestically or abroad,
  • Requesting correction of your personal data if it is incomplete or incorrectly processed,
  • Request your personal data to be deleted or destroyed within the framework of the conditions stipulated in the Law on Personal Data Protection,
  • When you request the correction of missing or incorrect data and your personal data to be deleted or destroyed, requesting that this be notified to third parties to whom we have transferred your personal data,
  • Objection to the result in case of a result against you by analyzing the processed data exclusively through automated systems and
  • Requesting the removal of this damage if you suffer damage due to illegal processing of personal data

How You Can Use Your Rights?

The Contact Person’s request regarding his personal data;

By sending a wet signed and written petition with a photocopy of your identity to the address sizidinliyoruz@idp.com,

will be able to forward it to the Company by sending it to Harbiye Mahallesi, Cumhuriyet Cad., Kahan Apt., No: 40, Kat: 4 Şişli / İstanbul via a valid identity document and a wet signed written petition.

In accordance with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller, in the application of the Relevant person, name, surname, sign if the application is written, the Republic of Turkey identity number, (if the applicant is a foreigner, passport number), address of settlement or business based on notification, e-mail address, telephone number and fax number based on notification, if any and information on the subject of the request are required.

The Relevant person must clearly and understandably state what is requested in the application, which includes explanations regarding the right to do and requests to use the rights mentioned above. Information and documents related to the application must be attached to the application.

The subject of the request must be related to the applicant's person, but if acting on behalf of someone else, the applicant must have a special authority in this regard and this authority must be documented (special power of attorney). In addition, the application must contain identification and address information and authenticating documents must be attached to the application.

Requests made by unauthorized third parties on behalf of someone else will not be considered.

How Long Your Requests Regarding the Processing of Your Personal Data are Answered?

Your claims regarding your personal data are evaluated and answered within 30 days at the latest after they reach us. In case of negative evaluation of your application, the reasons for the reasoned refusal will be sent to the address you specified in the application via one of the methods selected in the Contact Person Application Form, primarily via e-mail or mail.
