The ISC provides various pathway courses for students wishing to gain entry into a postgraduate or undergraduate degree at the University of Lincoln.
- International Foundation Year One prepares students hoping to study an undergraduate degree in the UK. It is a specialist programme for international students which amounts to the first year of a degree programme, this means that students can progress directly onto second year. University of Lincoln offers the programme via five different subject- specific routes which are:
Business & Management, Journalism, Computer Science, Engineering and Media Studies.
The programmes are either three or four terms long and are a combination of academic skills and English language modules. The courses are taught using university style teaching to provide students with the key skills required for higher education. - Pre-Masters is for students wishing to study a Masters degree at the University of Lincoln. The ISC offers Pre-Masters in Business & Management and Engineering to prepare students for a range of postgraduate degrees at Lincoln. Studied over two terms, the Pre-Masters is a programme of academic subjects, study skills and English language training designed specifically to prepare students so they can progress directly onto a Masters degree of their choice.
- The programmes are assessed regularly through a mixture of coursework and examinations. The ISC’s personal monitoring and support keeps students on track.

Location
The University is set at the heart of the historic and picturesque city of Lincoln. The city attracts more than a million visitors a year and has a long and fascinating history which is evident from its sites of interest and beautiful architecture. Lincoln Cathedral is one of the finest medieval buildings in Europe and Lincoln Castle houses one of only four surviving original copies of the Magna Carta, which was signed in 1215. Lincoln also hosts one of the largest Christmas markets in Europe.
The winning combination of a safe, student-centred community with a vibrant city centre and broad range of cultural activities and venues makes Lincoln a fantastic environment in which to live and study.
The stunning Brayford Pool campus is situated in the city centre with academic buildings, accommodation, shops, restaurants and cinema all within walking distance. Also on campus, the Engine Shed is a major music and performance venue on the national circuit, attracting names such as Kings of Leon, Doves, Human League and Florence and the Machine.
The city is steeped in culture, art venues include the beautifully restored Lincoln Drill Hall, Theatre Royal and on the University campus, the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre (LPAC) which is developing a distinctive programme of international music, drama and dance.
The countryside around Lincoln rolls out to one of the largest agricultural regions in the country. Riseholme, previously the Bishop of Lincoln's palace and now the University's country seat, is just a few minutes away by car or bus from the city centre. The Riseholme Estate has more than 20 hectares of mixed woodlands, and extensive water features.
