Glendale Community College was founded in 1927 to serve the needs of the people in the Glendale Union High School District which included La Crescenta , Glendale, and Tujunga. The College is the Greater Los Angeles Region’s premier learning community where all students achieve their informed educational goals through outstanding instructional and student services, a comprehensive community college curriculum, and educational opportunities found in few community colleges.
Glendale Community College is a public community college granting certificates and associate degrees. It serves people from a variety of geographical areas but primarily serves a diverse population of the Greater Los Angeles region that is capable of benefiting from instruction in credit, non-credit, and community education programs.
Glendale College is known for its academic excellence. It transfers more students to the University of California than any other community college in the vast San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys. Its College Scholars program increases chances of being accepted in universities nationwide. GCC also specialize in state-of-the-art career training with high-tech facilities that set the standard for other colleges. There are 22 computer labs on campus.
Glendale Community College campus is just minutes from downtown Los Angeles and freeway close to the beach, the mountains, the desert and all of wonderful Southern California. Mild temperatures contribute to a casual campus atmosphere that invites outdoor activities.
