Government Education and Training International-Tasmania

Government Education and Training International Tasmania is a State Government organisation, operating within the Department of Education. It is the central business unit representing Tasmanian Government education and training providers to the world. The Tasmanian Government provides schooling for students from four years of age. Beginning in Kindergarten, students continue their education through Primary School, Junior High School, and Senior High School. When they study at one of Tasmania’s Government Schools or Tas TAFE, students will be studying in an education system that prides itself on providing outstanding care and support to students.
Government Education and Training International Tasmania offers Diploma plus Degree pathways to the University of Tasmania, which provide graduates with both a Tas TAFE qualification and a university degree. It offers a wide range of nationally-recognised qualifications from Certificate III to Advanced Diploma level to local and international students. With smaller class sizes, and a lower proportion of international students, each student gets more one-on-one, individual support from teachers and support staff. When learning in Tasmania, students will be encouraged to become an active lifelong learner.
