Pittsburg State University was founded in 1903, in the tranquil setting of southeast Kansas. Home to nearly 7,000 students, Pittsburg State provides you with all of the benefits of a major college experience, without the major college price tag. Student can choose from more than 200 academic programs and emphasis areas in four colleges: College of Arts and Science, Kelce College of Business, College of Education, College of Technology, and enjoy an average class size of just 18 students. PSU has a World-class internship and study abroad opportunities and transformational experiences.
Pittsburg State University and the Pittsburg community have a proud tradition of welcoming and supporting international students. It's part of PSU’s community's history which, to this day, is known as the Little Balkans for the number of nationalities - French, German, Italian, Slovenian, Swedish, eastern European and more - which helped found the city of Pittsburg. Pitt State boasts more than 400 international students from 40 countries.
The Intramural Sports Program is designed to provide currently enrolled PSU students, faculty and staff members an opportunity for experiential learning through participation in organized activities. The Weede pool, located in the Garfield Weede Building offers many things from informal lap swimming and just floating on noodles to structured swimming lessons and fitness classes. Fitness programs at Pittsburg State University provide a safe and convenient environment where one can begin, maintain and improve their level of physical fitness. Informal recreation is available throughout the Student Recreation Center (SRC).
