Wellington Institute of Technology
The Wellington Institute of Technology, also called WelTec , is a tertiary institution training around 8000 students every year. It is one of New Zealand's oldest tertiary education institutions and the second oldest in the capital city. The Institute has been training students since 1904. WelTec has been working with Whitireia to provide the best possible choices for students in the Wellington region and beyond. For over a century, it has been provided high quality education. The focus today remains on providing students with a quality education, connecting them to industry and community, and kick starting their future career.
The Wellington Institute of Technology offers a range of industry led qualifications from trades through to degrees and postgraduate programmes. It’s qualifications are future focused, developed alongside industry and provide students with practical skills so they can pursue their career goals. The Institute’s home campus is in Petone. It's located a short walk from bus stops on Jackson Street and 15 minutes from Petone railway station. Car parking is available on site and in the surrounding streets.
