The UK immigration rules affecting everyone coming to live and study in the UK are available on the UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) website. You can also get relevant information from the British Embassy/or equivalent in your country or their partner agency. All students who are non-EEA nationals and who will be studying in the UK for more than six months will need to apply for a Tier 4 (General) Student ‘entry clearance’ visa.
Each institution granted a Tier 4 sponsor licence will be given a sponsor rating, either: Tier 4 Sponsor; or Probationary Sponsor. The courses that an institution can offer to international students will depend upon their Tier 4 sponsor rating. Institutions with Tier 4 Sponsor status can offer a wider range of courses than Probationary Sponsors.
