Electrical engineers design and develop electrical and electronic components and systems, such as power systems, communication systems, control systems, integrated circuits, and computers. As an electrical engineer, you may work as a consultant, designer, educator, entrepreneur, executive, public official, researcher, scientist, or in the military. Electrical engineers work in a variety of fields, such as acoustics, aerospace, automotive, communications, consumer electronics, energy resources, the environment, medical and biomedical fields, power, signal processing, space, testing, and underwater systems. Electrical engineering is the largest field within the engineering profession, and it continues to grow and evolve. Electrical engineering is also one of the highest-paid engineering fields. You'll be prepared for positions in industry and with government agenciesand to continue your studies at the graduate level.
This fast-track program enables outstanding BS degree students in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering to complete both the BS and the MS with nine fewer total credits. Students may take three graduate courses as their CPE or ELE BS-degree technical electives.
