IDP announced its entry into the US higher education market in April 2009 with the intention of placing international students into American Universities in the 2010 academic year. The move marked a first step in the company's multi-destination marketing strategy.
The IDP US team established a US-based Client Relations Team who focused on developing the company's US client portfolio, supporting its clients, and promoting the combined benefits of IDP's global presence and local understanding of individual markets.
IDP US now has a client portfolio of over 125 universities, private pathway providers, and English language schools. Significant work has been undertaken across IDP's global network to include enhancement of student counselors' depth of knowledge of universities in the US and destination attributes, backed up by IDP's sophisticated CRM system OSCAR, which includes a comprehensive Knowledge Base.
