University of Bristol
University of Bristol is one of the most popular and successful universities in the UK and was ranked within the top 50 universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2018. The institution has made innovations in areas ranging from cot death prevention to nanotechnology. The University has had a reputation for innovation since its founding in 1876. The University currently has 40 Fellows of the Royal Society and 15 of the British Academy, a remarkable achievement for a relatively small institution.
The University offers more than 200 degree courses made up of Single Honours degrees, which involve studying one main subject, and Joint Honours degrees, which allow you to study two subjects alongside one another. Its courses have a modular structure made up of mandatory and optional units chosen from within your subject area. You may also be able to take one or more units in a different subject enabling you to explore your interests in other areas of study.
The majority of teaching takes place on its main campus in Clifton. The campus spans a wide area, bordered to the north by Tyndalls Parks Road and to the south by Park Row and the HH Wills Memorial Building, which has overlooked the city from its vantage point at the top of Park Street since 1925.Bristol Veterinary School is located at a dedicated site on the edge of the Mendip hills in the rural village of Langford, 14 miles south of Bristol. Its 255-hectare estate is home to state-of-the-art facilities that are ideal for its staff conducting a large variety of research activity, as well as being fundamental to its commitment in delivering first-rate teaching on all their undergraduate courses and postgraduate taught programmes.
