University of North Carolina at Greensboro
The University of North Carolina at Greensboro was established by legislative enactment on February 18, 1891.It is one of the sixteen university campuses of The University of North Carolina, the birthplace of public higher education in America. The academic environment goes beyond relevant fields of study and challenging coursework. It’s the mentorship from renowned faculty members who collaborate with students on research and community partnerships. The University shall redefine the public research university for the 21st century as an inclusive, collaborative, and responsive institution making a difference in the lives of students and the communities it serves.
University of North Carolina at Greensboro takes pride in being a learner centred public research university. The College of Arts & Sciences and seven professional schools offer 85 undergraduate majors, 61 master's programs and 26 doctoral programs. The campus has grown to include 24 residence halls and 30 academic buildings on 210 acres. It helps the students create a successful and meaningful path to their goals so that they are prepared for the challenges and opportunities that come their way.
The university is located in Greensboro, North Carolina’s third largest city. It’s about halfway between Atlanta and Washington, D.C. The Blue Ridge Mountains are just a two hour drive to the west, the Atlantic Ocean is 3.5 hours to the east.
