Overview
Edith Cowan College (ECC) is located in Perth, Western Australia, and provides a number of fast-track Diploma courses - which can be completed in just eight months and are equivalent to the first year of the respective bachelor degree at ECU. Students can study subjects ranging from Hotel Management to Science, and can then transfer to Edith Cowan University (ECU) – which is also where ECC delivers its courses.
ECC students have access to many of the facilities at ECU – the second largest University in Western Australia. These include state-of-the-art computer labs, a recently renovated library, multimedia facilities, access to food outlets, a bar, and a sports centre.
Around 700 students from both Australia and internationally come to study at ECC, where they benefit from being in small classes with a high level of student-to-teacher interaction, ensuring that each person has maximum support and guidance. The College provides flexible start dates, with students having the option of starting their programme in February, June or October.
Students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities during their studies, to allow for them to meet new people, broaden their skills and nurture existing talents and interests. These range from sports teams to taking part in events and activities organised by clubs and societies in Perth.
ECC is mindful of the fact that some students find starting at a new college daunting, and provides free and confidential counselling to those experiencing any difficulties. Incoming students are also looked after at the beginning of their studies through Orientation, where a range of activities and ice-breakers are put in place to help them settle in.
