Federation University Australia is Victoria's premier regional university, with a heritage of providing high-quality education for over 150 years.

The university offers over 150 courses across a range of subjects, with a particular focus on industry-oriented learning. Students benefit from the smallest average class sizes in the region, and teaching staff are highly qualified. Bachelor of Cognitive Enterprise – the first degree of its kind in Australia

Federation University Australia has partnered with global technology company IBM to launch Australia's first degree in Cognitive Enterprise.

The degree focuses on how disruptive technologies can be used to innovate across all business areas – from marketing, IT, management, banking and finance, to social and environmental sciences.

Preparing students for jobs of the future

The new Bachelor of Cognitive Enterprise degree has been created in response to industry needs. Co-designed with IBM, the degree provides you with the foundational knowledge and skills to deal with technological and strategic demands of contemporary and future business settings.

You will develop strong business skills such as strategic, entrepreneurial and innovation skills required to lead businesses in a digital-focussed environment. You will also develop an understanding of how the latest technologies are changing the business world.

Industry experience with IBM

Gain real-world experience during your degree through work-integrated learning opportunities via an industry project or industry experience. You'll also earn IBM Digital Badges (certifications) in blockchain technology and artificial intelligence. Federation University has recently unveiled a new research centre to facilitate the use of digital technology to help communities prosper by managing natural resources, and to guard against cyber-attacks.

The Centre for Smart Analytics (CSA) will see work done in fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital economy and smart learning technologies to develop innovative solutions for issues that need to be addressed in these areas, in partnership with government, industry and communities. Additionally, it is expected to support breakthrough solutions in technology and the digital economic strategy of the Australian government. This would in turn help strengthen security and boost global competitiveness and productivity.

The CSA, which will be co-located across Federation University's campuses in Victoria, aims to take a multi-faceted approach to tackle the challenges facing the modern world and bring researchers, including engineers, mathematicians, scientists, strategists and education specialists together to collaborate and conduct world-class research of high impact with globally renowned universities and local industries.

UniSports, at the Mt Helen Campus, is the hub of recreational and health services for staff, students and the local community. The fully equipped gymnasium and eight lane indoor swimming pool are popular attractions amongst students. Special memberships are provided to students by UniSports and the Student Association. Some of the scholarships Federation University offers international students include:

Global Innovator Scholarship

The university's Global Innovator Scholarship is available to new international students who are commencing undergraduate study or postgraduate coursework in the year 2022. The scholarship covers 20 per cent of tuition fees (AUD 9,000 to AUD 26,000) for the full duration of study. No separate application is necessary, students will automatically be assessed with their study application.

Global Excellence Scholarship

New international students who are outstanding in their academics can avail Federation University's Global Excellence scholarship. Students will be awarded a 25 per cent tuition fee scholarship (AUD 11,000 to AUD 32,500) for the full duration of their study. No separate application is necessary, students will automatically be assessed with their study application.

Accommodation Support Scholarship

International students can also apply for the accommodation support scholarship that rewards up to AUD 2,000 per semester (total AUD 4,000 per year).

Australia Awards

These are highly sought-after international scholarships funded by the Government and administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). These awards aim to develop students' leadership potential and effect lasting change by empowering a network of talented individuals from around the world via a high-quality education experience.

Destination Australia Scholarships

Funded by the Commonwealth Government, these are designed to support those students who make the choice to live and study in regional communities.

Federation University Australia Global Innovator Scholarship

This is offered to international students applying for undergraduate and postgraduate on-campus degree programs at Federation University. The scholarship is equal to 20 percent of the student's annual tuition fees and is offered in the form of a fee discount.

Federation University Australia Global Excellence Scholarship

This can be awarded to high-achieving international students applying for both undergraduate and postgraduate degree on-campus programs with a distinction average. It is the equivalent of 25 percent of the annual tuition fees and is available in the form of a fee discount.

International Student Accommodation Support Scholarship

This scholarship is exclusively for those students who choose to live in university accommodation in any one of Federation University's Victoria campuses. Prospective students will be assessed at the time of receiving an offer to enrol at the university.
