In 2021 the university's GBP 80 million School of Arts building will open and will be packed with the latest specialist facilities. These include professional TV, film and music recording studios, a performance theatre and Dolby Atmos movie cinema.

Entry requirements vary from course to course. Please refer to the course listing on our Online Prospectus.

English language requirements

If the student's first language is not English, then they would need to submit evidence of their English language ability. This is an important requirement and is essential if they are applying for a Tier 4 Student Visa. The most common qualification the University accepts is an IELTS but Pearsons and TOEFL are also widely accepted English language qualifications.

The following are the required scores for the tests (these may vary by course applied to):

  • IELTS: 6.0 with no skill below 5.5
  • Pearsons - PTE Academic: Total of 56 to 60 (minimum of 51 in all components)
  • ESOL Skills for Life: Level 1 (pass in all four components)
  • TOEFL iBT: Total of 79 to 89 minimum for reading (18), listening (17) and speaking (20)
