What’s new
In addition to the expertise of their academic teams, students at the University of Lincoln also get the chance to learn from visiting staff who are well-known and respected in their industries and professions.
Each year the university welcomes a range of guest speakers who deliver inspirational talks in their respective fields as part of the Great Lives lecture series. Previous examples include BBC presenter Chris Packham and ExoMars spacecraft engineer Abbie Hutty.
In addition to this, the university has recently embarked on an exciting collaboration with the University of Nottingham. This partnership has given The University of Lincoln the chance to offer a medical education in Lincolnshire.
Established in 2018, Lincoln Medical School was created with the aim of enhancing the recruitment of doctors to the country. The first intake for this new and exciting programme, which follows the University of Nottingham’s medicine curriculum, began in September 2019.
Alongside this new course offering, the university has proposed a GBP 21 million building to support and enable students to explore the latest technological developments across health care. The developments will be comprised of a dedicated science library, lecture theatres and laboratories as well as clinical and prosecution anatomy suites, equipped with cutting- edge diagnostics tools. Students will also have access to clinical suites with mock consultation rooms.
