About East Coast Language College (ECLC)

ECLC is an ESL school for adults and an official IELTS centre. It is owned and managed by ESL instructors since 1998. The school caters to motivated students who want to work hard to achieve academic excellence and personal success. ECLC has a diverse student population. Since 2011 it has welcomed students from over fifty countries including South Africa, Korea, Brazil, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, China, Colombia, Haiti and Morocco. ECLC mission is to enable the students to achieve their full potential through the delivery of exceptional English-language training in a respectful and supportive environment.

Class sizes are small – usually between 8 and 10 students, with slightly larger classes for higher academic levels. It offers six main programs of study, English for Communication, University College Pathway (with bridging level), IELTS Preparation, Masters Preparation, Business English for the Workplace, and Teaching English to Young Learners. Since 1998, ECLC has been offering exceptional ESL training to international students in Halifax, Nova Scotia - on Canada's Atlantic coast. ECLC current campus was purpose-built in 2011 and is bright and welcoming – most students are surprised to find such bright colours in a school. ECLC is located in downtown Halifax, close to restaurants, universities, libraries, grocery stores, and markets, shops. ECLC has capacity for 200 students in 19 classrooms.
