British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM

To be eligible for a British Council Scholarship for Women in STEM an applicant must:

Be a woman, as defined under UK legislation.

Applicants must be able to confirm their legal sex as female, evidenced by passport or other official documentation. This will be a condition of acceptance.

Apply for and fulfil the entry criteria for admission to the following 1-year full-time courses:

MSc Structural Engineering
MSc Advanced Electronic and Electrical Engineering
MSc Artificial Intelligence
MSc Integrated Product Design
MSc Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Design
MSc Public Health & Health Promotion
MSc Cancer Research
MSc Infection & Antimicrobial Discovery
MSc Physical Activity & Exercise for Health
MSc Advanced Professional Practice (with options for specialism in Cardiovascular Health, Critical Care, Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation, Neurorehabilitation or Pelvic Health)

Be in receipt of an offer to study on one of the above programmes by starting in September 2026.
Have been assessed by Brunel University of London as an international student for tuition fee purposes. Applicants who are unsure of their fee status should note Brunel uses the information you have provided in your application form to assess your fee status against regulations set by the UK government. Be a permanent resident of, and hold a valid passport or recognised international travel document from, one of the eligible countries listed below:

• Bangladesh
• India
• Nepal
• Pakistan, or
• Sri Lanka

The Scholarship is fully funded and covers:

• Tuition fees
• Monthly stipend (up to 12 months)
• Return economy-class travel
• IELTS exam fee (for scholars without a valid test of English)
• Visa and Insurance/ NHS surcharge cost
• Child allowance (where applicable)
