Concordia University of Edmonton has played an important role in Alberta’s educational history since 1921. In the ordinary university, students move from lecture theatre to massive hall. Scientists stay with scientists, educators with educators, philosophers with philosophers. Marketers share ideas with other marketers. Concordia University of Edmonton was born to be different. For almost one hundred years, students came together through a shared belief, despite their varied interests and fascinations, their majors and minors.
CUE is a boutique university, small enough that every student is essential yet large enough for a global outlook. In and out of classrooms and lecture halls, it translates what it learns into extraordinary hands-on experiences. Concordia University of Edmonton has over 45 majors and minors in the fields of Arts, Science, and Management, two after-degree programs in Education and Public Health, as well as Masters degrees, and several graduate certificates and diplomas.
Research is a key element of the intellectual development of faculty and a visible demonstration to the broader community of Concordia University of Edmonton’s commitment to academic excellence. Established in 2017, the Office of Research Services was created to support and enhance this aspect of academic life at Concordia University of Edmonton.
Grades cannot represent everything students learn during their post-secondary experience. Concordia University of Edmonton’s Co-Curricular Record (CCR) was developed to provide students with official documentation to recognize their co-curricular achievements to prospective employers and graduate schools. The Co-Curricular Record is a great opportunity for students to showcase their extra-curricular activities, leadership abilities, professional development, and much more.
Concordia University of Edmonton offers many experiences to engage and entertain, including music, drama, and athletics, as well as a number of public happenings, from Pride Parade to International Culture Days. The Concordia Students’ Association (CSA) also plans student events such as the Winter Formal, pep rallies, Harry Potter week, science week, and more.
