The university offers fully accredited programs in both law (J.D.) and medicine (M.D.). Florida State University also offers a variety of study abroad opportunities for students during the regular academic year, as well as in special summer programs in Florence, Italy, Panama City, Republic of Panama, Valencia, Spain, and London, England.

The main campus is located on the oldest continuous site of higher education in Florida, in a community that fosters free inquiry and embraces diversity, along with championship athletics, and a prime location in the heart of the state capital. Degree programs are available at branch campuses in Panama City, Florida, and the Republic of Panama and off-campus instructional sites in Sarasota, New York, and the St. Petersburg College University Partnership Center in Seminole.
