The University of Notre Dame Australia is a leading institution in Australia, with campuses in Sydney, Perth and Broome. There are also an additional seven Clinical Schools in New South Wales and Victoria, which are part of its School of Medicine. The University prides itself on providing a personalised learning experience for each student.

Students are given plenty of opportunities to gain professional work experience during their studies, and can take advantage of the many industry partners at Notre Dame, allowing for them to gain work experience and build up contacts for their future career. The University also boasts one of the highest graduate employment rates in the country. During their time studying, students are offered individual career support, covering everything from CV writing to brushing up on their interview skills.

The University offers a wide range of support for students during their time studying, including study workshops, a confidential counselling service, additional academic support, mentoring programs, disabled support and dedicated International Student Support Officers.

Across the different campuses, students have the chance to get involved in some of the many clubs and societies on offer, allowing for them to gain new skills outside of the classroom. These range from the Journalism and Film Association to the Basketball Association.

During their time at Notre Dame, it is possible for students to spend some of their time in another country in one of the partner universities across Europe, the UK, USA, Canada and Asia, which helps them learn about another culture and add value to their CV at the same time.

Notre Dame excels in nationwide student survey

The University of Notre Dame Australia topped the Federal Government's student survey once again this year.

The latest rating the university received for ‘Overall Quality of Educational Experience' was above the average in Australia (79%) - at 90.2%, for undergraduate level.

At the postgraduate level, Notre Dame tops in the national level for ‘Learner Engagement' with a rating of 74.1%, and for ‘Skills Development' at 87.8%.

''These results are testament to our distinctive approach to higher education which draws on centuries of teaching, scholarship and research tradition, resulting in academic excellence, and balanced with the strongest pastoral care and student support. We are delighted that our students say their student experience is one of the best in Australia'', said Peter Tranter, acting Vice-Chancellor of the university.

New 25% International Merit Scholarship

The University has recently introduced 25% International Merit Scholarships to provide tuition assistance to international students enrolling in undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs (excluding Medicine). The value of the scholarship is up to 25% of annual tuition fees for up to a maximum one year.

Notre Dame's personal and distinctive approach to education is recognised as the best in Australia for overall quality of educational experience in the nationwide Federal Government student survey.

Its smaller lecture sizes mean students are on a first-name-basis with their lecturers and have greater access to academics for support. They also have access to exceptional practical experience opportunities. Through internships, professional placements and volunteering students graduate with experience on their CVs, a real advantage in gaining employment. Notre Dame has one of the highest graduate employment rates in Australia (QILT).

Notre Dame provides a liberal arts education in which students learn to think critically and creatively. Entry requirements

Entry requirements

The University of Notre Dame Australia requires applicants to achieve minimum academic and English language proficiency requirements. This ensures that applicants are sufficiently competent in the English language, allowing them to participate effectively in their chosen programme and achieve the expected programme outcomes.

Applicants can demonstrate their English language proficiency by completing an English language test or through previous secondary or tertiary study as outlined at the English language proficiency requirements page.

Notre Dame also offers an English language programme for international students. Upon successful completion of Notre Dame's Academic English Bridging Program, no further English language testing will be required to meet Notre Dame's English language proficiency requirements, except where required by an accrediting body.

Undergraduate Merit Scholarships

The University of Notre Dame Australia offers a number of International Undergraduate Merit Scholarships for high achieving students from selected countries. The University promotes the importance of a culturally diverse student body and supports students to study at either the Sydney or Fremantle Campus.

This scholarship waives 20% of annual tuition fees for up to a maximum of three years in programs in the Schools of Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Health Sciences, Law, and Philosophy & Theology.

Applicants who wish to be considered for this scholarship must submit their application for admission by the due date of the semester in which they wish to commence. Read more..

The Cancer Detection Centre for Women Research Scholarship

This Scholarship encourages and supports medical research training in the area of women's health, and provides financial support to postgraduate students with exceptional research promise to pursue a career in medical research. The term of this research scholarship is up to two years for Master by Research recipients and three years for Doctor of Philosophy recipients.
