AAUT Awards for Teaching Excellence

Griffith University educators have been recognised in the Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT), winning three awards at the 2024 ceremony. In addition, the university won two Awards for Teaching Excellence, an Award for Programs that Enhance Learning and three Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning in the 2021 round.

AAUT are highly competitive national awards and Griffith University has an enviable record of success in the awards program, having received more Australian Awards for University Teaching than any other university since 2012.

Griffith University strives to support international students through a generous range of scholarships. Scholarships significantly ease the cost of study on students and help cover expenses such as living allowances and tuition fees. Scholarships are available for students at all levels –undergraduate, postgraduate, research and pathway.

Vice Chancellor's International Scholarship (2025)

This scholarship supports exceptional students applying to study undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Griffith University. The scholarship covers 50 percent of coursework tuition fees only for the duration of the program.

The International Academic Merit Scholarship

This scholarship recognises international students with strong academic results applying for undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs at Griffith University. The scholarship covers 20 percent of coursework tuition fees only for the duration of the eligible academic program. Students don't need to apply for this scholarship, as upon application to study Griffith University will evaluate the student's eligibility for this scholarship.

Griffith University offers variety of student support services for the benefit of international students. From friendly International Student Advisors to English language support, the university's staff and services strive to help all students succeed.

• Griffith Mates – a diverse peer-support network of members who speak more than 30 languages, Griffith Mates welcome thousands of international students each year, helping them to adjust to university life in Australia. From airport pickups to beach days, the Mates organise activities and events to help students connect, have fun and make friends!
• International Student Advisors – International Student Advisors provide information and guidance to support students in managing their life and studies in Australia. The university's team of dedicated and experienced staff can answer any questions and help guide students towards academic success.
• English language support – Griffith University provides English language learning instruction for students to develop their academic English and improve overall academic performance. From dedicated courses to free one-on-one tutoring sessions, the university, through the Griffith English Language Institute (GELI) and its award-winning courses, offers a range of solutions that can help students achieve their goals.
• Careers & Employment Service – The university's careers and employment service supports students in planning their career, becoming job ready and finding work while they study and after they graduate.
• Health and Wellbeing – Students can see a doctor at Griffith's health and medical services located at Gold Coast and Brisbane South (Nathan), as well as medical centres and hospitals near each campus. Free, confidential student counselling is also available across all campuses for students to talk about personal issues.
• Financial Assistance – If students are having trouble with budgeting, the Welfare and Student Liaison Office offers budgeting advice, a textbook exchange service and other support services.
