The University of Bath primarily delivers its campus-based courses through in-person activities, supported by online elements and structured independent study.
In-person teaching normally takes place each week, ensuring students can work through their learning in practice. Online education includes live interactive sessions – allowing students to explore ideas in a group – alongside structured, independent self-study. This approach means individual students' study needs are be met while retaining flexibility in course delivery when needed.

All students must meet both the academic and English language requirements of their chosen course in order to study at the University of Bath. Students are advised to check they meet the entry requirements prior to application.
A range of international qualifications are accepted by the university.
Since all teaching at the university takes place in English, students must meet the English language requirements for their course. A range of English language tests are accepted by the university.
The level of English required will depend on the course being studied, but a common requirement is an overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 or 7.0.
International applicants who do not meet the university's English language requirements can often attend a pre-sessional course. The pre-sessional course helps students prepare to pursue degree-level studies though improving speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
The University of Bath is offering up to GBP 9.2 million in scholarships for high-achieving international students joining a course in September 2026. Scholarships are available for both undergraduate students and taught postgraduate students.
Scholarship opportunities include:
Up to 300 Bath International Excellence Scholarships worth GBP 8,000 per academic year (up to GBP 24,000 over three years) for high-achieving undergraduate students joining a degree course in September 2026.
Up to 250 Bath Global Excellence Scholarships worth GBP 10,000 for high-achieving postgraduate students joining a full-time taught master's course in September 2026. Scholarships are available in the Faculty of Engineering & Design, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences and Faculty of Science.
The university is awarding up to GBP 3.6 million in scholarships for international master's students joining a full-time course at the School of Management. Scholarships are worth up to GBP 15,000.
In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the university is offering four scholarships worth up to GBP 15,000 for eligible master's students from Nigeria, Pakistan, Greece and Spain.
Four full scholarship awards are available for eligible international students and students from Lebanon on selected master's courses for September 2026, supported by CMA CGM Group.
Over the past decade, the University of Bath has invested over GBP 450 million in a range of high-quality facilities for its main campus. This includes new teaching spaces such as the School of Management building, a GBP 10.9 million arts and management building, and the GBP 35 million Sports Training Village.

There is a range of housing options to suit individual budgets and lifestyles, including students with disabilities and medical conditions.
Students can join one of 50 sports clubs run by the SU. Each club welcomes new members, whether they are a beginner or a professional. All students can access the Sports Training Village, which hosts a gym, sports and fitness centre, coaching, physiotherapy, and sport science services.
