Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology

Ball State's APA-Approved Ph.D. program in Counseling Psychology prepares you to become an exceptional counseling psychologist working in academia, university counseling centers, health care settings and/or private practice.Youll graduate as a scientist-professional with a strong integration of theory, research, and practice as a health service psychologist. You must have a bachelor’s degree from an institution recognized by a regional accrediting association.

Some doctoral programs (but not all) require a master's degree from an institution recognized by a regional accrediting association.

bachelor's degree – You must have earned a minimum of a 3.0 GPA from the undergraduate degree-granting institution.

master's degree (when required) – You must have earned a minimum of a 3.2 GPA from the master's degree-granting institution.

Students begin the Counseling Psychology PhD program at the start of the Fall semester.
