Entry requirements

Entry requirements vary depending on the course. English language courses have level-based entry, based on whether they are elementary, intermediate, upper-intermediate or testing preparation courses. Vocational courses require IELTS scores ranging between 4.5 and 6.0, or scores obtained on the PTE, or completion of specific CCEB English levels. Some courses require students to have prior experience in the field.

Accelerated pathways to JCU university degrees

CCEB has recently partnered with James Cook University (JCU) to offer a clear, accelerated pathway to bachelor's level qualifications at JCU. As a result, students completing selected Diploma or Advanced Diploma programs will be eligible for exemptions into:

• Bachelor of Business at JCU
• Bachelor of Commerce at JCU
• Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events at JCU

These exemptions mean students can complete a JCU bachelor's in less time and at a lower cost.

CCEB recently acquired its own student residence - Cairns Kangarooms. The purpose-built residence, comprising 40 rooms across four newly designed buildings, is located in the city centre and is the perfect place for students to call home while studying in Cairns. Cairns Kangarooms is located within 15 minutes' walking distance of the CCEB campus and offers students the following amenities:
