Associate of Science in General Studies

The Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Degrees are provincial credentials offered by many institutions in the BC Transfer System. The associate degree is designed to provide an educational experience that prepares students for life as an educated person, and to lay a solid foundation for further study.

The associate degree curriculum comprises two years of university level study in a variety of academic areas. Students are required to complete a broad range of course offerings balanced with in-depth study in specific disciplines. Since many students will continue their studies, the requirements are sufficiently flexible to enable students to complete the required prerequisites for upper level course work in their intended major.

Grade 12 recommended

English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 or equivalent AND

Pre-Calculus 11 or equivalent AND

Life Sciences 11 or Chemistry 11 or Physics 11 or equivalent

IELTS (academic module): Overall - 6.0, No less than 5.5

TOEFL (internet-based): Reading - 20; Writing - 20; Speaking - 20; Listening - 20; Overall - 80

International Language Academy of Canada (ILAC): Minimum Overall Score - ILAC PW Level 3.1

International Test of English Proficiency (iTEP): English 12 "C" Grade, Minimum Overall Score, 3.7

Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL): Overall 50, No less than 50

Pearson's Exam (PTE-A): Overall 50, No less than 42

Duolingo English Test: Overall Score 105
