At d’Overbroeck’s secondary school in Oxford, our Years 7-11 students follow the English National Curriculum, which culminates in their GCSE exams at 16. In a relaxed yet ambitious environment, subject specialists deliver a broad academic programme that encourages our students to be curious, think outside the box, and push the boundaries. Challenging, engaging, and packed with outstanding learning experiences, our Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 curriculum provide a balanced education that prepares our students for A-levels.
In Years 7 and 8, our students follow a broad secondary school curriculum, which includes maths, English, sciences, geography, history, computing, art and design, music, drama, sport, and religion, ethics and philosophy.
Your child will learn in mixed groups, with the exception of maths, which is set according to ability. Learning is tailored to individual styles and needs, enabling each student to work at their own pace and enjoy the right level of challenge and support.
Moving into Year 9 of secondary school at d’Overbroeck’s, our students start to specialise in certain areas. This includes choosing two languages from three – French, Spanish, and Latin – or selecting to study classical civilisation. Students also follow biology, chemistry, and physics as separate subjects.
