Designed for students with an interest in aquatic environments Students study biological and physical processes that occur in both marine and freshwater systems and develop skills to enable them to contribute to management and understanding of waterbased ecosystems There is an emphasis on the continuity of these environments across the transition from fresh water to estuarine and marine systems Students will be able to apply their degree in marine and terrestrial park management environmental impact assessment and conservation of marine and freshwater fauna and floraLearning OutcomesApply broad discipline knowledge to a range of theoretical and practical marine andor freshwater science situationsAnalyse experimental and field data using approaches in marine and freshwater scienceFormulate hypotheses design and undertake experiments to generate solutions to marine and freshwater science problemsSynthesise relevant information from multiple sources using digital literaciesCommunicate marine and freshwater science knowledge and values in professional and public contextsIncorporate diverse perspectives into scientific practice applying a global outlook and including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural perspectivesWork collaboratively with others encompassing social sustainable and ethical values into scientific practiceApply own learning to professional practice
