Master of Arts in Public Sociology

The Master's Degree in Public Sociology from Cal Poly Humboldt opens up a diverse and powerful array of resources to you to cater your experience to your interests and goals. In the Public Sociology program, you become part of a network of activists and scholars that are passionate about helping you turn your sociological imagination into social action. The Department, and the University can support your goals if you want to learn more about community organizing, performing evaluative research, grant writing, social movements, teaching at the college level, environmental stewardship, academic research, criminology and much, much more. GPA of at least 3.0 from your last institution is required by the Department of Sociology.

English Language Proficiency

ACT - 22 or above on English test section; Cambridge English Exams - CPE: C2 (200 or above); IELTS - 6.5; ILSC - Completion of Advanced 1; iTEP - 4.5; TOEFL - 80 IBT, 550 PBT, 213 CBT.

We occasionally admit students in the Spring semester, however, it is not the norm. For consideration in the Spring semester, please submit your application by October 15th.
