Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering- Nanoengineering (Co-op Option)

This program provides an introduction to the principles of electronics, electromagnetics, and photonics as they apply at the nanoscale level. By selecting this option, students will learn about the processes involved in the fabrication of nanoscale structures and become familiar with the computer-aided design tools necessary for analyzing phenomena at high levels of miniaturization. Focusing on the study, design, and fabrication of materials less than a micrometre (0.000001 metres) in size, nanotechnology has thousands of potential consumer and industrial applications, ranging from the speed of computers to the quality of drinking water in remote communities.You will have a wealth of resources at your disposal, including the Micromachining and Nanofabrication Facility, as well as the recently established undergraduate nanotechnology lab.This Option is taken as part of an Electrical Engineering degree.
This degree can be taken as a Co-op (co-operative education) program. Through the Co-op program, you will have the opportunity to complete paid, supervised work terms throughout your degree. Co-op programs are a great way to challenge yourself, gain relevant work experience, and make connections to industry before you graduateMost co-op programs include five work terms lasting four months each, in addition to the usual eight terms (four years) of full-time study. Therefore, co-op programs require five years to complete.
