Applicants are expected to have ABB at A Level, including a grade B in the advanced language they wish to study. It is also possible to study two beginner (including post-GCSE) languages without taking an advanced language. General Studies is accepted. For the International Baccalaureate, candidates must achieve 32 points overall with 6,5,5 in Higher Level subjects, including a Higher Level or equivalent qualification in the modern language intended for study. For BTEC qualifications, the following are accepted: BTEC Extended Diploma with DDM plus a B at A Level in the required subject(s); BTEC Diploma with DD plus a B at A Level in the required subject(s); and BTEC Subsidiary Diploma with D plus AB at A Level, including the required subject(s). Applicants who are not currently studying the required language at A Level may also be considered if they hold an independent language diploma at B2 level. Accepted diplomas include DELF-B2 (French), DELE-B2 (Spanish), Goethe-Zertifikat-B2 (German), DILI-B2 (Italian), and TRKI 2nd Certificate (Russian), all of which align with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). These diplomas must be taken in addition to three A Levels or equivalent qualifications.
