Since most college-age students have now had their vaccine, Canada College is going back to in-person classes for Fall 2021. In light of the recent coronavirus pandemic, Canada College has taken a number of health and safety measures to prevent the spread of the virus to students, staff and visitors.

The Quebec Ministry of Healthcare has indicated that despite the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Quebec, the risk of contracting the virus in the community is still low and remains much lower than in other countries around the world.

Canada College advises any students planning to travel to first check the government's official website with all of the latest travel information and guidance. Students can find advice on the safest ways to travel and provide information about any travel restrictions in place.

As a bilingual college, students must show some proficiency in English or French to pursue their studies. Proof of high school diploma or equivalent academic qualifications recognised by the Ministry of Immigration, Françisation and Integration is required.

Some programs require students to complete a short test if they have no previous experience in that specific field of study, for example computer science. Documents required for admission to Canada College include a CV, birth certificate, passport, proof of language proficiency and copies of a student's diploma and transcripts.

Student Authorization

For students looking to study a language course that is longer than six months, they will need to apply for student authorization at the closest Canadian Embassy/Consulate or online before travelling to Canada. To successfully apply for this visa, students will need to provide an acceptance letter from the College. Students will be required to give their biometrics to help the visa officer verify their identity and may also be asked to complete a medical examination if they intend to study for more than 24 weeks.

Scholarships and Funding

As with all international study experiences, students are required to cover the costs of tuition, housing and personal needs. All students attending Canada College must be able to prove they can support themselves financially whilst their student visa authorization is in the process of being issued. This may mean needing to provide financial information from a bank or guarantor, such as parents or guardians who will be providing the financial support.
