Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements

Nottingham Trent has various entry requirements for different subjects, with English language proficiency needing to be proved by an IELTS result. The requirements vary for each school, but for undergraduate bachelor’s degrees the requirements are generally between 6.0 to 7.0 with at least 5.5 in every component of the test. In some cases, the requirements for first year admission may be lower than the levels needed to join a course in the second year of study. Equivalent IELTS scores shown by various other language tests such as TOEFL and Pearson may also be acceptable to prove English language proficiency.

NTU also offer pre-sessional English courses, over a six to 20-week period to help potential students achieve the requirements they need. PEAP courses are specifically designed to help future students meet the language conditions of their offers and also provide an opportunity to settle into the university life.

Students should be sure to check country-specific entry requirements, as these vary depending on the country where study has previously been undertaken and qualifications have been gained.
