Since it’s founding in 1883, the University of Auckland has grown to become New Zealand's flagship, research-led university, known for the excellence of its teaching, its research, and its service to local, national and international communities. The mission of the University is to be a research-led, international university, recognised for excellence in teaching, learning, research, creative work, and administration, for the significance of its contributions to the advancement of knowledge and its commitment to serve its local, national and international communities.
The University of Auckland conducts teaching and learning within eight faculties, two large-scale research institutes, and other institutes and centres. It offers more than 140 innovative programmes, with more than 25 at undergraduate level. The research programmes range across all disciplines .It is a world leaders in such fields as cancer drug development, inductive power transfer and computational physiology.
The City Campus is right in the heart of Auckland. It is located within walking distance of all the main cultural, entertainment and commercial hubs. Harbour views and Albert Park add to the appeal. The campus has a full range of amenities including cafes, health services, libraries, childcare facilities and a recreation centre.
