The Anglican Schools Commission Inc. was established in 1985 following the passage of a resolution by the Perth Diocesan Synod of the Anglican Church of Australia. Its purpose was to provide affordable Christian education in the Anglican tradition to a broader range of families. The Commission recognized that while existing independent Anglican schools offered high-quality education and excellent facilities, they were not financially accessible to many families. To address this need, it established co-educational, fee-accessible Anglican day schools that were designed to be socio-economically inclusive, explicitly Christian in ethos, and welcoming to diverse communities. In January 2025, the organization adopted the new name AngliSchools, reflecting a natural evolution following four decades of growth and success. From its modest beginnings with the opening of St Mark’s Anglican Community School in 1986 in the northern Perth suburb of Hillarys, AngliSchools has expanded significantly. Today, it serves nearly 18,000 students across 12 schools in Western Australia, three schools in Victoria, and one school in New South Wales. Supported by more than 2,500 teaching and professional staff, AngliSchools has become one of Australias largest non-government school systems. The organization takes pride in its achievements and continued commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality education grounded in Anglican values.
