AUT was ranked 15th in the world and first in Australasia for International Outlook, based on its ability to attract international students, in the 2018 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. In the Asia-Pacific University Ranking 2018, AUT was ranked 84th.
Times Higher Education also ranked AUT as one of the world’s top 150 young universities, based on the quality of teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income. AUT is one of the worlds' top millennial universities, ranked in the top 30 in the world.
Ranked in the top 2% of universities worldwide
AUT is ranked as one of the top 500 universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2019. This ranking puts AUT in the top 2% of universities worldwide.
In the QS ranking of the top 50 world universities under 50 years old, AUT is ranked in the 61-70 band. AUT is the 16th youngest institution acknowledged in this ranking.
AUT has been awarded the highest rating of five stars for excellence in teaching, employability, internationalisation, facilities and inclusiveness by QS World University Rankings.
