The University of Central Florida is a public research university located in metropolitan Orlando. According to U.S. News & World Report?s 2020 Best Colleges guide, UCF ranks among the nation?s 20 most innovative universities. UCF is also ranked as a best-value university by Kiplinger and The Princeton Review, as well as one of the nation?s most affordable colleges by Forbes. The university confers almost 17,000 degrees each year and benefits from a diverse faculty and staff who create a welcoming environment and opportunities for all students to grow, learn and succeed.
Founded in 1963 to provide talent for Central Florida and the growing U.S. space program, UCF has been making an impact on the state, the nation and outer space ever since. With 13 colleges, including a College of Medicine, the university offers more than 220 degree programs from the main campus, downtown campus, hospitality campus, health sciences campus, online and multiple regional locations. UCF?s fully online programs include online bachelor?s degrees, online master?s degrees, online PhDs, online certificates and more. It offers 99 bachelor?s, 89 master?s, 34 doctoral and three specialist degree programs, and it leads all universities in Florida.
Home to Spectrum Stadium and the Addition Financial Arena, UCF hosts a variety of concerts and shows, plus NCAA sports and cultural events. Student housing is abundant, as are on-campus events and activities. The university offers an array of student services, more than 650 student clubs and organizations, plus dedicated academic resources to help students succeed in school and as alumni. Opened in Fall 2019, the UCF Downtown campus provides innovative education for high-demand fields such as digital media and health information technology.
Since 1968 UCF?s home is, 1,415-acre main campus in east Orlando is impressive in size and even bigger in potential. Modern facilities and state-of-the-art technology keep students connected to classwork and social communities, while 800 acres of woodlands, lakes and an arboretum help them reconnect with nature.
