University of Lethbridge
The University of Lethbridge fosters an environment that meets the educational and personal needs of students through excellent teaching, exposure to research, interaction with professors and instructors, academic advising, counselling, and cultural, recreational and extracurricular programs.
The university aspires to inspirational teaching that ignites intellectual passion and stimulates a thirst for knowledge. It is grounded in liberal education and committed to providing its students with small classes, a personal experience, and the most vital and engaging learning environment in the country. Students can choose undergraduate programs in broad area of studies across multiple courses. They can choose a single Bachelor’s degree, or opt for a combined degree program which will give them two Bachelor’s degrees. Also, the university is a comprehensive academic and research institute, which offers graduate programs, at the Master and Doctoral levels, spanning over 70 disciplines.
The University of Lethbridge Art Gallery has a dual role: it serves both the campus community and the general public. The Art Gallery plays a central role for research, learning and community engagement at the university. At the same time, the Art Gallery is a key component of the university’s public face and reaches audiences from Lethbridge, within Alberta and across the country.
Clubs are an essential part of the community atmosphere and they provide opportunities for further involvement with your studies, meeting new people on campus, and having fun. Club membership is open to all full-time and part-time students attending the University of Lethbridge, all professors, staff and the community.
The University is situated on over 550 acres of traditional Blackfoot territory in west Lethbridge. University Hall, designed by architect Arthur Erickson, has received international acclaim for its architectural originality and functional design. Lethbridge has a population of 99,000 and is located in southern Alberta, approximately 145 kilometres east of the Canadian Rockies and 95 kilometres north of the United States border.
