University of Texas at Dallas owes it?s existence to three visionaries, Eugene McDermott, J. Erik Johnson and Cecil Green. It is an innovative institution made up of eight schools. Since its founding in 1969, the university has grown to include degree programs, with cutting edge curricula serving a variety of undergraduate and graduate student interests. Texas continues its original commitment to providing some of the state?s most lauded science and engineering programs and has also gained prominence for a breadth of educational paths, from criminology to biomedical engineering to arts and technology.
The University offers 142 academic programs across its eight schools. It offers a variety of academic and professional certificates. The university?s faculty and professors hail from the world?s best colleges, including Harvard, MIT, Cambridge and Columbia University. UT Dallas is home to numerous centres, labs and institutes that facilitate research and opportunities for hands-on learning. The academic certificates at the university consist of semester based, credit bearing and graded courses that can be applied towards a degree program.
