Be an IDP Ambassador: Help others achieve their study abroad dream

An IDP Ambassador is a volunteer who will help other students learn what studying abroad is really like. You will be a global brand advocate and champion of international higher education. You’ll share your own journey - how you chose your course, adjusted to a new place, and made your study dream come true.

You’ll chat with students preparing to study abroad or settle into a new country and help them make smart choices.

You’ll also be part of a global online community where students from around the world connect, share, and support each other.

As an ambassador, you can choose what activities you’d like to do and how often. Some fun ways to get involved:

• Make photos or videos about your life as an international student. This will give aspiring international students a peek into different aspects of your life abroad such as your classes, your city, or even how you budget for daily expenses or manage homesickness. It will be a great opportunity for others to imagine themselves in a foreign city and university.

• Answer FAQs to help give students a real picture of what life abroad is like. Use your own experiences to bust myths and address common queries or concerns, such as ‘How to choose a university?’ or ‘How to apply for a visa?’

• Build an online profile. This way, others will get to know the real you and feel confident to chat with you about their study abroad queries.

• Join and actively participate in group chats. Be part of conversations with other students. Share tips, help others who need support, and remind them they’re not alone. Along the way, make new friends from around the world.

• Speak at webinars about topics like “Life of an international student in the UK” or “What it’s like to study business management in Australia.” You’ll inspire others with your personal story.

When you volunteer to help others, you also grow and learn in the process.

• Make a difference with your words. Helping students achieve their dreams, even if you’ve never met, is something to be proud of.

• Volunteer from anywhere - it’s a flexible, online role.

• Get a career reference letter from IDP, mentioning all your contributions and the skills you have developed.

• Build useful skills like communication, teamwork, public speaking, community management, and content creation - all great for your future career!

Join exclusive webinars and even chat with senior IDP team members, who can guide and inspire you.

Everything happens through an easy-to-use app called The Ambassador Platform. You’ll use it to chat, share content, and join events.

You can spend as much time as you like, but around 2 hours a week is a good start to make the most of it.

You can apply if you:

• Were placed at your university by IDP in the past 1–2 years.

• Love sharing your study abroad story.

• Speak English well and enjoy talking to people.

• Are active on social media and like creating content.

• Want to help others make smart choices about studying overseas.

• Are eager to learn more about IDP Education and the student journey.
