What's new

What's new

UTS x Flow Systems

UTS is tapping into water sourced from the Flow Systems wastewater recycling plant, located across the road from the UTS Broadway campus at the vibrant Central Park development.

To connect the Flow Systems plant to the basement of UTS Central, horizontal drills burrowed a path under the road to make way for pipes. With the tap officially turned on, recycled water will now flow to the UTS campus to be used for landscaping, toilet flushing and in cooling towers.

It's expected that the partnership will reduce UTS's potable water use by around 40,000 kl – or sixteen Olympic swimming pools – each year.

Rooftop solar at UTS Tech Lab

UTS is innovating urban power generation with a unique 25-year licence to operate a 1.1-megawatt urban solar farm at the UTS Tech Lab and the surrounding business park.

More than 3,500 solar panels will generate 1,430,000 kWh of clean energy each year, which is around three per cent of the university's energy needs and enough to power nearly 300 Australian homes.

UTS can use generated energy on-site to fully power Tech Lab operations, with additional generation offset against power use at the Broadway campus.

Teaching quality

Teaching quality

UTS believes that practice-oriented education is crucial to student success. Students can get practical through internships, simulations and case-based approaches to learning during their degree or study program.

With one of the largest student mobility programs in Australia, students have the opportunity to think globally and experience another country while studying. Global opportunities extend beyond the classroom and students can build international and intercultural capabilities through the wealth of placement and research opportunities.

UTS emphasises research-inspired and integrated learning, active engagement with research methods and outcomes, skills in critical thinking, and creative and analytical approaches that will help students become lifelong learners.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

English-language requirements

International students whose previous education was not conducted in English are required to demonstrate their English proficiency by completing an English-language test or program recognised by UTS.

English-language proficiency test scores are recognised by UTS provided they were obtained less than two years prior to application and applicants meet the admission requirements for the relevant course.

For more detail on English-language requirements, visit the UTS website.

Academic requirements

For entry into undergraduate courses at UTS, students require a competitive pass in a recognised matriculation examination, equivalent to an Australian Year 12 qualification.

For admission into undergraduate honours coursework and most postgraduate courses, students must hold a recognised and relevant bachelor's degree equivalent to an Australian bachelor's degree.

Students must also demonstrate the potential to undertake research and submit a brief proposal which should have been discussed with an appropriate UTS staff member.

Note: In addition to these academic requirements, some courses may have specific admission requirements.
