A quick virtual tour of the Fleming College
As a mid-sized college with campuses in urban centres, Fleming College can offer international students an advantage over larger institutions in and around Toronto. Here, they get a truly Canadian experience and a close connection to their faculty and classmates.
Over an academic year, the average full-time population at Fleming College is approximately 6,300 with international students that make up for about one third of the total student population. This mix of domestic and international students makes the college community very diverse, comprised of talented and driven individuals from more than 33 countries.
“In addition to top-quality education provided in excellent facilities by experienced and supportive instructors, what makes Fleming really special is the feeling of community,” shares Peter Bondy, Director of International Education at Fleming. He adds, “Students really enjoy the urban conveniences available at all our campuses along with access to natural beauty. Equally important to our many international student graduates is that a Fleming College credential—diploma, certificate, graduate certificate, etc.—is recognised throughout North America and around the globe.”
All Fleming College campuses are well located and accessible
While many Canadian colleges offer similar supports and services to their students, Fleming’s size and location make it unique. Some standout features include:

At Fleming, the faculty members invest their time to really get to know the needs of their students. This helps them to provide individual attention to help with academics and professional networking, leading to part-time and full-time career opportunities following graduation. Further,
Fleming instructors are industry experts with experience in the local community and thus can connect students with employers
Smaller class sizes allow more time for each student to use equipment, practise hands-on skills and receive feedback
The International Student Services team is focused on individual needs with regular contact with students from application to graduation and beyond
Practical, real-world training
Many employers require applicants to have Canadian experience, and there are plenty of opportunities for practical learning at Fleming – applied projects with business and non-profit partners, co-op placements, internships, apprenticeships, field trips and courses, lab and clinical work, and training in the simulation lab.
Hands-on training provided in state-of-the-art facilities, such the Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre, new health science wing simulation Centre, Centre for Innovative Aquaculture Production, and specialized art and design studios.
