2. Life science courses:

Higher education institutions in the US realised that there was a need for a revolution in how the life sciences programs are taught. Therefore, in 2007, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), in partnership with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), National Science Foundation (NSF), and National Institutes of Health (NIH), took the initiative to start a series of regional conversations focused to improve education in the life sciences field. The conversations aimed to enhance learning, program effectiveness and innovation in the sector. 

As a way forward, these regional conversations formed the recommendations which were applicable across all the life sciences stream, and almost to all disciplines at an undergraduate level.   • Standardised test scores are conducted to evaluate student’s critical thinking and academic knowledge such as in SAT

  • A minimum score in English Proficiency tests, such as in IELTS you need at least 6.0 bands to enrol in the top American university
