All applicants must be able to demonstrate the required competency in the English language. Those who require a student visa may have to provide a Secure English Language Test (SELT), for example, the IELTS Academic test.
For students who still need to meet the English language requirements necessary for admission there are pre-sessional academic English courses available. These courses are available for both bachelor's and master's students who need to develop their English language skills before starting their degree.
The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is a programme built for students who require further support before they can transition into bachelor's level study at London Met. They'll have already completed high school or some university education overseas.

London Met's Skills and Simulation Suite, opened in 2023, provides realistic learning experiences that prepare health sciences students for professional practice. The facility includes a hospital ward, intensive care unit, paediatric ward and paediatric intensive care unit, alongside community-focused environments such as a home with a functioning kitchen and an assisted living flat.
A highlight is the immersive 360-degree ‘igloo', which uses projection and virtual reality technology to recreate a range of scenarios, from roadside emergencies to hospital wards.
