The Glasgow School of Art
Founded in 1845, the Glasgow School of Art is internationally recognised as one of Europe's leading higher education institutions for education and research in the visual creative disciplines. Its studio-based approach to research and teaching, brings disciplines together to explore problems in new ways to find new innovative solutions. This approach creates the environment for inter-disciplinarity, peer learning, critical enquiry, experimentation and prototyping, helping to address many of the grand challenges confronting society and contemporary business.
As one of the leading Art Schools in the UK, The Glasgow School of Art welcomes international students to all of its programmes. It offers an environment in which difference is encouraged and diversity of background and approach is valued. Study at the GSA is done through its five Schools that includes Architecture, Design, Fine Art, Innovation or Simulation and Visualisation. The focus of all its courses is studio practice, and the provision of individual studio space to both undergraduate and postgraduate students is one of its major strengths. Courses offered by the school also include lecture time, library research and crits time when students work in groups with tutors to analyse and explain their work.
The Glasgow School of Art is situated in the centre of the city of Glasgow and also has a library that possess one of the finest art, design and architecture collections in the UK.
